Filling in your Passport step by step

Seven short steps, uploading proof and verifying your identity.

The app's screen, with sample data.
  1. 1About you: name, phone, who you're moving with, identity.
  2. 2Housing: where you live now and since when (we don't ask for your address).
  3. 3Work: what you do and since when (the landlord doesn't see your employer's name).
  4. 4Finances: income as a band, savings, KHR (Hungary's central credit register).
  5. 5Previous tenancies: your last lease and landlord (as a first-time tenant you can skip it without losing points).
  6. 6What are you looking for?: districts, rent, size, move-in date. It gives no points, but it is used to work out your fit with flats.
  7. 7Review: tick the consent box and click Submit.

We delete the file 90 days after the check; the result stays in your Passport. If we reject it, you see the reason and can upload a new one.

  1. 1At the item, choose How will you verify it?
  2. 2Attach the file (PDF or photo, up to 10 MB).
  3. 3Click Upload for review. A member of the Rentkey team checks it.
  • Income: a NAV (tax authority) certificate or 3 months of bank statements.
  • Stability: an employer's certificate, a NAV certificate or a pension statement.
  • History: a signed lease, a reference from a landlord.
  • A KHR report from Ügyfélkapu (the government portal), no older than 3 months.

It takes about 3 minutes and is easiest on a phone. It gives you points and a badge, and you need it for signing with a one-time code too.

  1. 1Click Verify your identity and enter your name and date of birth.
  2. 2Tick the consent box, then Start the check.
  3. 3Take a photo of your ID card, passport or driving licence, and record a short selfie video.
  4. 4You see the result straight away.
  • Rentkey stores no image or video, only the result.
  • The landlord only sees Identity verified and the date.
