Terms of Service

1. Provider

Rentkey is provided by WebWave Media Kft. (registered office: Táborföld út 6., 2096 Üröm, Hungary; company registration number: 13-09-208650; tax number: 28827801-2-13) (Rentkey). Contact: hello@rentkey.hu.

2. The service

Rentkey is an online platform for tenants and landlords: tenants create and share the Rentkey Passport (a verified tenant profile); landlords manage properties, listings, applicants, leases, handovers, rent, utilities, deposits and maintenance.

Rentkey is not an estate agent, not a party to the lease, and does not decide disputes between the parties; it records their statements and steps.

3. Registration and account

A valid e-mail address is required. Users keep their credentials secret; two-factor authentication can be switched on. Users may request deletion of their account at any time in Settings (see the Privacy Notice).

4. The Rentkey Passport

The Passport is built from data the tenant provides and verifies. The score is informative; landlords decide themselves whom they contract with. The tenant shares the Passport only with landlords she chooses and can revoke a share at any time.

Tenants can object to the score and ask for human review (GDPR Art. 22).

5. Landlord workspace

The landlord is the controller of the data recorded in the workspace (properties, leases, payments, maintenance, etc.); Rentkey acts as processor for that data. The processing terms are in the [Data Processing Agreement] annex.

Landlords are responsible for their team members acting with authority; if not the landlord signs a contract, the signer must hold a written power of attorney.

6. Electronic signature

A signature made in Rentkey with a one-time code is a simple electronic signature: we record the time, the identification and the document's SHA-256 hash. For qualified signatures the parties may use DÁP or another qualified provider.

7. Fees

The tenant Passport is free. Landlord plan fees are on the Plans page (rentkey.hu/csomagok). No paid service is available yet.

Launch offer: whoever signs up by the deadline shown on the Plans page uses the plan shown there (as a landlord) or the tenant extras (as a tenant) free of charge for the time shown there. At the end the workspace goes back to the Private plan; no data is deleted. We send a reminder 30 and 7 days before.

8. Liability

Rentkey provides the service with due care but is not liable for the accuracy of data provided by users, for the performance of obligations under the lease, or for disputes between users. [Exact limitation of liability to be agreed with counsel.]

9. Termination

Users may close their account at any time. Rentkey may suspend accounts for breaches. Documents that must be kept by law (signed contracts, protocols, payments) are kept until the end of the retention period.

10. Complaints, disputes

Complaints: hello@rentkey.hu. Consumers may turn to the conciliation board of their place of residence. Governing law: Hungarian law.
